Who we are

Chestnut is a collection of pubs with rooms and Big House hotels across the East of England. Alongside our hospitality portfolio, we also own and operate a number of commercial and e-commerce brands.

Our story began in 2012 with The Packhorse Inn, Moulton — and today, we’re proud to have over 23 businesses, with exciting plans for growth over the next three years. Rooted in the East, we’re passionate about creating memorable experiences, championing local communities, and building a brand that celebrates people, produce, and place.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in driving brand consistency, guest engagement, and commercial performance across our pubs and hotels.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll lead the day-to-day marketing operations for our properties, manage a small team of Marketing Executives, and work closely with operations and sales teams to deliver activity that drives measurable results.

If you’re a commercially minded marketer who loves hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys combining creativity with analytics — we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and deliver 90-day marketing plans for each property, aligned to commercial goals and local market opportunities.
  • Oversee campaign delivery across pubs and hotels, ensuring activity is effective, timely, and on-brand.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a small team of Marketing Executives.
  • Partner with General Managers and property teams to drive bookings, footfall, and revenue.
  • Support group-wide brand projects, including new openings, partnerships, and campaign rollouts.
  • Manage digital channels and campaigns, including CRM, social media, content, and paid advertising.
  • Analyse performance data to identify opportunities and improve ROI.
  • Ensure all marketing systems and platforms are up to date and optimised for engagement and conversion.

What we’re looking for

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a marketing management role — ideally in hospitality, leisure, retail, or another multi-site business.
  • Proven success in creating and delivering marketing plans that drive commercial results.
  • Confident team leader and strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Experience across digital marketing channels, CRM systems (e.g. Airship, Mailchimp), analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite), and CMS platforms (e.g. Wordpress, Wix).
  • Highly organised, data-driven, and results-focused.
  • Creative flair, strong attention to detail, and a love for great hospitality.

Desirable skills

  • Experience onboarding new sites or brands into a marketing structure.
  • Familiarity with Airship, Mailchimp, Canva, Microsoft Teams, and Excel.
  • Experience with campaign reporting, budgeting, and database management.

Our benefits

Working at Chestnut means being part of a business that cares about people and places. Alongside a supportive culture and opportunities for growth, we offer a range of great benefits, including:

  • Competitive salary and performance-related bonus
  • 50% discount across all Chestnut pubs and hotels for you and your guests
  • 25% discount on retail and e-commerce brands
  • Access to our team wellbeing programme and mental health support
  • Development opportunities, including professional training and career progression
  • Company events and team socials celebrating our people and successes
  • Hybrid working with flexibility around our Bury St Edmunds office
  • 28 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), increasing with length of service
  • Pension scheme and company benefits platform

Why Chestnut?

At Chestnut, we believe hospitality starts with our people. You’ll join a collaborative, creative, and passionate team who love what they do — and who take pride in making a difference to our guests and our local communities.
